Objectives:
Upon successful completion of this course you will be able to:
- Analyze the system architecture of Windows 2000. - Analyze and troubleshoot the Windows 2000 startup process. - Implement a disaster recovery plan with Windows 2000. - Manage DOS and Windows applications running on a Windows 2000 system. - Use DHCP to automatically configure TCP/IP client computers. - Resolve NetBIOS-based computer names to IP addresses on a TCP/IP network. - Use DNS to resolve IP addresses to host names. - Create a forest of Active Directory domains. - Create group policies to manage users’ work environments. - Use the Group Policy Editor to deploy applications and scripts to network clients. - Support and manage client systems on a Windows 2000 network. - Interoperate with a Novell NetWare network. - Implement Dial-Up Networking (DUN) in a Windows 2000 environment. - Create remote connections by using Virtual Private Networking, and secure all remote connections. - Plan for automated deployment of Windows 2000. |
| Overview: This course teaches participants how to install and manage a variety of optional services in Windows 2000 and also how to manage an Active Directory forest containing multiple trees. |
| Prerequisites: Participants should understand basic networking technologies and be able to administer a Windows 2000 Active Directory domain. Previous attendance at the "Windows 2000 Installation, Configuration and Administration" course or equivalent knowledge. |
