 Logical Database Design for
 Sybase Adaptive Server
Duration:   3 days
Participants:   Developers, DBAs, Designers, and others who design logical database models, and implement them using Microsoft SQL Server.
Objectives:   Upon successful completion of this course you will be able to:
-  Describe relational design.
-  Use a Data Dictionary.
-  Describe and use: Relational Database Design, Conceptual Design, Logical Design, and Physical Design.
-  Create logical database models.
-  Implement a logical design into a physical database, using Microsoft SQL Server.
-  Normalize and denormalize a database and describe the impact of denormalization.
Overview:
-  This course teaches the basics of designing a relational database from requirements gathering to implementation. The instructors are hands-on Database Modelers and share their experiences while teaching the course material. Participants will design for Microsoft SQL Server databases.
Prerequisites:   Ability to use Windows.
Format:   Lecture and discussion with hands-on exercises. In workshops, participants practice creating logical and physical design models and normalizing these models.
